I am Avtar Singh Bhatia from Rupnagar, Punjab, GYM trainer by profession and Runner by passion. I have participated in total 101 running events (97 half marathon and 4 full marathon) across India from Jammu Kashmir to Kanyakumari and set a new record.
I love Running, Gyming, Bodybuilding, Swimming, cycling, am a fitness addict. In every marathon across India I travel a night before by bus or train or by air.
My running journey started me getting majorly injured. As we all know that in every sportsman’s life, there is always one fear and that is getting injured. The painful experience of my life, when my life came to standstill because of an injury sustained in Gym way back in February 2016. I had a serious injury in my spinal cord (PVD PROLAPSED INTERVERTEBRAL DISK) , which caused multiple health issues. The toughest part was that I was not able to walk properly and this led to continuous drop in my body power and muscle. I consulted many doctors and physicians , they suggested me to take proper bed rest. Even after bedrest I was still experiencing pain in my body. Doctors advised me to get operated and was suggested to quit gym for lifetime. This was a shock for me and was quite depressing. I lost all hopes and my dreams got shattered. At that moment I motivated myself and started mild exercises like yoga, stretching and walked with stick for half to one kilometer on daily basis. Day by day my stamina got increased which ultimately boosted my confidence. Now, running and cycling were also back in my life. Ignoring all negative stuff was what I kept stable , and moved forward working on it, just followed my hear. Here I was introduced to a cyclist and runner in me who is much more stronger than before.
I am inspired by many great Runners in various age groups and backgrounds. It was like a dream come true when I met SARDAR FOUJA SINGH JI, BIBI MAN KAUR JI, MILKHA SINGH JI. I’m thankful for their encouragement to youngsters and to all runners in the world.
I wake up at 4 am and run 10 KM everyday. On Sundays I run official half marathon and since last two years I’m running across India and my journey still continue.

I participated in total 101 marathons (97 half Marathon and 4 full marathons) across India and set a New Record .
I have a great collection of official marathons medals.

I have a great collection of officials marathons medals. Running changed my life: All my health problems have been resolved and I find myself stronger both physically and mentally. I have friends all around the country with whom I enjoy running. I started running at the age of 30 and was never into running earlier. I smile, laugh and enjoy every bit of my life. If I can, then anyone can run .
Running really makes me feel alive. I’ve come down from 125 kgs body weight to 80 kgs. I’m getting better everyday. It’s always me vs me and that’s why I run. To see how far I can go.
Now I’m looking forward to upcoming international marathons. Completing international marathons is another part of my future. I have a dream to run and compete in marathons around the world.
